Harris Hotel
The photograph (shown left) of the Harris hills was taken from not too far away from Tarbert, the main town on the Isle of Harris. Found in this very small town, situated in a lush valley, is the wonderful boutique hotel called the Hotel Hebrides.
Many visitors to the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles of Scotland like to spend some of their time on the Isle of Lewis and in the main town of the islands, Stornoway, as well as some time on the Isle of Harris. Hotel Hebrides is perfectly situated for a two destination vacation being within easy access of all of Harris while also being around three quarters of an hour's drive from Stornoway.
It is surprising that so many people travel to the Hebrides and do not bother to visit Harris. As well as having some very interesting historical sites Harris has some of the most spectacular beaches in the United Kingdom (found on South Harris). In the same respect some visitors to the Isle of Harris enjoy it so much that they spend little or no time on the Isle of Lewis thus missing out on an opportunity to visit such wonderful places as the Calanais Standing Stones.
